Certain bachelor's, master's or doctoral degrees of Indian students will now be treated as equivalent to the UK degrees, thereby, benefitting those who wish to pursue higher studies or want to get employed in the UK.
India and the UK signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) according to which Indian Senior Secondary School or the Pre-University Certificates will be deemed suitable for entry into the UKs higher education institutes. Secretary of Commerce BVR Subrahmanyam informed that New Delhi will work out for the recognition of professional degrees related to medicine, engineering, architecture and pharmacy, during the free trade agreement. The talks will culminate by August 31, 2022, and the pact is supposed to be signed by Diwali.
