Indian Students Prefer Courses in AI and Robotics for Study Abroad: Survey

As per a recent survey, artificial intelligence and robotics are the most popular study abroad courses among Indian students. Additionally, the Covid-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on their choice of program to study abroad. 

Indian Students Prefer Courses in AI and Robotics for Study Abroad: Survey

Engineering is the most popular subject for Indian students studying abroad, according to a survey conducted by INTO University Partnerships. Around 24% of the respondents stated that they are more fascinated by courses based on advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence and robotics.

The survey also revealed that the pandemic has influenced the decision of over 78% of the students to study abroad. The survey, which involved over a thousand Indian students, also revealed that the pandemic has inspired a rise in interest in topics such as climate change and advanced technologies.

It also highlightedthat the primary reason why students study abroad is because of the quality of education and skills offered by the institutions there. They also believe that it will improve their job prospects. The top destinations for Indian students include the US (31%), Canada (23%), and the UK (17%).

A sizable portion of them also considers studying in Asia. Australia and New Zealand saw a drop in student interest due to the closures of their borders. However, the reopening of these areas may soon boost their numbers.

The survey also revealed that 35%of Indian students consider job prospects in a given country as their main reason for choosing to study abroad. 33%of the students stated that they prefer to study in a country with a higher quality of education, while 32% indicated that they would like to study in a country with expertise in their chosen field.

The survey also revealed that the US is the top choice for Indian students. They also indicated that they are considering schools in Asia.

Despite the global pandemic, over 5 lakh students studied abroad in 2019. According to the MEA, over 2.6 lakh students chose to study in 2020 despite the situation. A survey conducted by INTO revealed that the main motivation for studying abroad was to improve one's skills and education. Students also stated that it would increase their chances of living in the host country after they finish their studies.
