Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), India’s largest software service company, recently announced that the company has recruited more than 7000 employees in the UK over the last five years. The recruitement of an additonal 7000 employees has put TCS in the list of top recruiters of IT services talent in the UK. TCS currently has over 18,000 employees in 30 locations across the UK. Due to the company’s customer-centric services and differentiated offerings, TCS has managed to raise revenue and market share in the past few years and has become the second providers of IT services in the UK. In the past two years TCS has upskilled more than 90% of the UK staffs towards its commitment to nurturing local IT talents.
The workforce of TCS is a group of young and diverse people and represents 54 nationalities. Women occupy around 28% of the total workforce of the company. TCS has also been selected as the Superbrand in the UK for the sixth consecutive year and has managed to maintain its top three positions in IT services worldwide and continues to grow as an influential brand in the UK digital economy.
TCS is further investing in tech professionals for the future and encouraging its young workforce to upgrade their skills and pursue their passion in STEM subjects for a bright career in IT industry.
Along with technological development, the company and its employees works closely the charitable and social enterprises to bridge the knowledge gap. TCS IT Futures programmes which was launched in 2013 has reached out to over 3,00,000 UK students.
