Lambton College Unveils Graduate Centre for International Students

Lambton College is opening a new graduate centre for international students in North York later this April. It aims to help international students seeking jobs or are planning for permanent residency in Canada after the completion of their postgraduate studies.

Lambton College Unveils Graduate Centre for International Students

Canada's Lambton College is all set to unveil its new graduate services and support centrein North York, at the end of April 2022. The newly established centrecomes with theaim to support international students seeking employment aftergraduation and settling down in Canada.

Foreign students who are currently pursuing a programme at Cestar College and Queens College campuses in Toronto and Mississaugaor other colleges in Ontario can access theservices of this graduate centre post the completion of their studies.

The development comes with a greater goal to unite all its international students under one roof, creating the Lambton College experience for all regardless of their different locations.

According to a college representative, the centre has various purposes, one of which is to provide resources to such students to help enhance their international graduate careers in Canada. Major services offered by this centre include -mentoring opportunities, health and wellness resources, alumni events, and strengthening connections to create a network. Focus groups also highlighted that often foreign students look for support and resources while pursuing their enhanced career prospects and this centre will prove beneficial to such students.

Lambton College president and CEO Rob Kardas said that this comprehensive approach seeks support for international students post-graduation, adding that 36 months is a critical time for students as they look for gaining permanent residency in the country.

He added that the centre's goal is to remain "lifelong supporters of our students when they graduate".

As per reports, Lambtons international education partners, Queens College and Cestar College, with Guard.me International Insurance have funded a partof the centre, contributing $340,000. It has turned out as a 'valued supporter' of the college.

Kardas concluded by saying that they know our international students need the support of somebody being in their corner. The entire system of graduate services and support centres will be supervised and controlled by a full-time service coordinator hired by Lambton College.
