In the past couple of years, various changes have occurred in the United Kingdom, which has affected the study plans of Indian students. In order to improve the situation, various new initiatives are in plan for Indian students who want to study in the UK. Read the complete story below. 

New Initiatives in the Pipeline for Indian Students in the UK

During his visit to Queen Elizabeth II's Baton Relay in 2022, Lord Karan Bilimoria spoke to various media houses about how UK-India ties have changed in the sector of education.

The Birmingham Chancellor said that they are leaving no stone unturned to secure the new graduate visa that enables Indian students to spend upto two years working in the UK after their studies. Although the new UK visa will help attract more students from India, what will motivate them most is the opportunity to study in the UKand experience the country's academic environment.

As the chairman of the UK-India Business Council, he said that heis also interested in encouraging businesses to work together to create impact in various areas such as environmental pollution reduction, surgical hygiene, sustainable cooling, and applied sports science.

Birmingham University is further focused on developing women leaders in India. Through its partnership approach, the University of Birmingham aims to raise the profile of women in higher education in the country.

The new visiting fellowships in the UK isa program that will allow early career researchers to collaborate with their academics on various topics such as maternal health and sustainable cities.

These initiatives are also helping women in research fellowships and extending the Commonwealth scholarships. Students who study at the university in 2022 will receive a scholarship of up to GBP 3,000.

Through its India Institute, the university works with various organisations in India to deliver academic impact in various fields such as environmental pollution reduction, surgical hygiene, and applied sports science.

The University of Birmingham's India Institute was launched in 2018. Its goal is to address India's social challenges and develop women leaders.Through its partnership approach, the universityaims to raise the profile of women in higher education in the country.

Without intervention, India's cold-chain emissions could double by 2027. Through the support of the UK government, the university's Centrefor Sustainable Cooling has been able to replicate its successful model in the country.

Mobility and trade are key factors that businesses need to implement to improve their efficiency and drive productivity. Being able to move people across borders is very important for businesses to create a competitive advantage and expand their pool of talent.
