The Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) and RMIT Online have partnered to offer skill-based and industry-driven online education in Singapore. Through this partnership, SIM will allow candidates to select online courses from the existing portal of RMIT. Interested candidates can select courses by identifying the most appropriate course that can help them meet the increasing demand of digitised industries.
The first set of courses to be offered include Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, Data Analytics, Digital Marketing and Agile Project Management. Those who will successfully complete the course receive a digital credential.
Martin Bean, the vice-chancellor and president of RMIT said that the industry-focused short courses offered by the university at Australia has already achieved great success. He further said that the Covid-19 pandemic has already changed the study, work and lives of people and students will now be looking for courses that are industry-driven, skill-based and flexible.
Seah Chin Siong, the President and CEO of SIM said that their collaboration with RMIT Online will provide a flexible pathway for Singapore PMETs to acquire skills that are highly in demand by the employers. He also said that the digital initiative of SIM will continue to offer short term online courses that will be useful for learners in their career.
