Being one of the top destinations for study abroad aspirants, Canada now includes another college in the Designated Learning Institutions. Southeast College has now earned the tag of an international student learning centre among other Candian Universities Accepting international students.

The enrolment of the college will now allow the Estevan and Weyburn campuses to bring in the first batch of international students in the Fall Intake Session 2021. However, this will depend on the border restrictions in Canada due to the pandemic.

The entire process of being an approved DLI, Southeast College has been working with dedication for nearly 2 years, stated Jody Holzmiller, the Vice-President for Training and Education with Southeast College. He added that the university got busy and submitted an application to the Ministry of Advanced Education for DLI designation.

In a bid to be an approved DLI, the University was required to provide proof of being prepared and equipped to house international students. Additionally, the College was also required to present plans and explain their processes of being prepared for the students.

Therefore, if an international student demand for these courses, the college may be able to meet the necessary numbers to fill the seats and possibly run the programme.

The College expects to receive a few international students in the academic year 2021.
