A daughter of a farmer from Tamil Nadu, Swega Swaminathan has received a 100% scholarship of INR 3 crore to study a bachelors degree in the prestigious University of Chicago in the United States.
Swaminathan belongs to Kasipalayam village in Erode district in Tamil Nadu. According to a statement by Dexterity Global, she was trained by the organisation from the very age of 14 under its leadership and career development programme.

Founder of Dexterity global, Sharad Vivek Sagar, took to Twitter to say that this was a huge thing for a 17-year-old Dexterity to college student, the daughter of a small farmer to getaccepted to the University of Chicago with full scholarship of INR3 crore.
He further mentioned that Dexterity global, started in 2008, is a not-for-profit organisation in India, aimed at providing the next generation of leaders with educational opportunities and training.
Chicago University is one of the top-ranked universities in the world. As per the QS World University Rankings 2022, the university has been ranked 10th globally. It is a private research university located in Chicago, Illinois, which recorded a total undergraduate enrollment of 18,452 students and graduate enrollment of 10,893 students in theFall Intakeof 2021.

The alumni of UChicago include 101 Nobel laureates, among the highest across universities in the world. It also boasts being associated with 52 MacArthur Fellows, 53 Rhodes Scholars, eight Olympic medalists, 27 Pulitzer Prize winners, among others.
