THE Impact Rankings 2022 Released; Australian University Leads

Times Higher Education has recently released the 4th edition of its annual impact rankings list, i.e. THE Impact Rankings 2022. In this year’s edition of the list, Western Sydney University from Australia grabbed the 1st rank followed by Arizona State University (Tempe), US and Western University, Canada.

THE Impact Rankings 2022 Released; Australian University Leads

Times Higher Education, a renowned global university ranking institution has published its list of Impact Rankings 2022, wherein, universities that have made a significant contribution across different parameters are recognised.

According to the Free Press Journal, the Impact Rankings 2022 rank universities based on four broad areas, i.e. Stewardship, Research, Teaching and Research, as per the UNs Sustainable Development Goals.

Some of the key Sustainable Development Goals that have been focused upon and used to rank the institutions include Good Health and Well Being, Zero Hunger, Zero Poverty, Decent Work and Economic Growth, Responsible Consumption and Production, Climate Action, Affordable and Clean Energy, Clean Water and Sanitation, Gender Equality, Quality Education, Sustainable Cities and Communities, Industry, Reduced Inequalities, Life on Land, Life Below Water, Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions, Innovation and Infrastructure and Partnerships for the Goals.

According to THE Impact Ranking 2022, Australias Western Sydney University grabbed the top spot in the fourth edition of the ranking. Subsequently followed by the US Arizona State University (Tempe) and Canadas Western University, respectively.

THE Impact Rankings 2022 also highlighted universities from up and coming study-abroad destinations such as Malaysia, Saudi Arabia and Japan, where Saudi Arabias King Abdulaziz University shared the 4th spot with Malaysias Universiti Sains Malaysia.

In the 2022 Impact Rankings by Times Higher Education, no one country was seen to dominate the top 10 rankings, in fact, the maximum universities mentioned in the top 10 universities in the Impact Ranking 2022 by THE were located in the UK and Canada.

According to the published report by THE, the other universities listed in the Impact Rankings 2022 included the University of Auckland (New Zealand), Queens University (Canada), Newcastle University (UK), the University of Manchester (UK), and Hokkaido University (Japan).

This year, Times Higher Education evaluated 1,406 universities across 106 countries and regions to create the fourth edition of THE Impact Rankings 2022. This number had been a jump from the last years 1,117 universities from 94 different regions and countries.
