You are exempted from the academic progression requirement under the following conditions:

You need to resist your exams or repeat a module for your current programme

You are applying for a PhD or doctoral degree that you started studying in your current university

You are applying for the first time at a news institution to complete the course that you started at an institution that lost its student scholarship license

You have taken a role as a Student Union Sabbatical Officer

You are studying medicine, veterinary medicine and science or dentistry and taking a bachelors or masters course.

You are applying to extend your stay in the UK after undertaking a study abroad programme or work placement as a part of the course

When to Apply for a UK Visa Extension Application?
You can apply for UK Visa Extension as early as three months before the beginning of the new course start date. But, you must apply before your current student visa expires and also six months after getting the new CAS. Your new course must begin within 28 days of your current visa expiring date.
