Programme Delivery

Delivered through a combination of lectures, tutorials, exercise classes, hands-on work, projects, and individual study, the MSc Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Program is taught by leading experts in the field. Individual essays, group presentations, term-end exams, and a dissertation will all be used as forms of evaluation.

In the core modules, students will gain knowledge of complex mathematical models used in mathematical finance as well as programming for science and engineering. Additionally, advantageous to students are the small class sizes and customised one-on-one tutoring sessions.

Eligibility Criteria

The University of Birmingham is home to more than 1000 Indian alumni and there are now more than 210 Indian students enrolled in its various academic programmes. Indian students must meet the following entry requirements to enrol in the MSc Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning programme for the 2023 intake:

  • For the postgraduate taught courses, candidates must hold a bachelor's degree of a minimum duration of three or four years from a recognised Indian university.

  • Depending on the issuing institution, holders of bachelor's degrees are typically expected to have obtained 55-60% or higher for the 2:1 equivalent or 50-55% for the 2:2 equivalency.This means:

    • A four-year bachelor's degree (first class or very good upper second class). Or,

    • A three-year bachelor's degree (first class) from a recognised institution in India.

  • Holders of three-year degrees (first class or very good upper second class) from renowned Indian institutions will be taken into consideration by the Business School for MSc programmes.

It must be mentioned that a bachelor's degree in a discipline with strong mathematical content, such as computer science, mathematics, physics, engineering, or economics, is acceptable.

Scholarships

All new international students can benefit from scholarships at the University of Birmingham Dubai. These monetary benefits are transferable throughout the whole programme at the foundational, undergraduate, and postgraduate levels. A waiver request from a student will be evaluated individually. Based on academic performance, the university is awarding up to 40% in scholarships for September 2023 intake.
