Initiated in 2010, the Vishwa Konkani Student Scholarship Programme is a scholarship fund scheme to financially support Konkani-speaking students to pursue higher education in the field of Technology, Business Studies, Medicine and Humanities in India as well as abroad.
Recently, the corporate leader T.V. Mohandas Pai addressed the Vishwa Konkani Student Scholarship Programme to discuss the benefits of the scheme. Mohandas Pai said the Konkani Scholarship Scheme has grown into a large community with over 1,000 Alumni and each alumnus is helping 100 students. He appreciated the gesture of alumni in giving back to the community and providing them leadership in skill training and mentoring young scholars.

An award ceremony was virtually organised by the World Konkani Centre wherein around scholarship amount of INR 3.5 crore was given to Konkani speaking students from across the country. Scholarships were awarded to students who are pursuing master’s courses abroad as well as those who are pursuing professional courses including BE and MBBS.
The programme secretary, Pradeep G. Pai talked about the accomplishment of the Vishwa Konkani Student Scholarship Programme in presence of the centre president Nandagopal Shenoy. Alumni from across the globe also participated in the interactive session and shared their experiences on how the Vishwa Konkani Student Scholarship Programme has helped them shape their lives.
