Cranfield University came into existence in 1946. Cranfield University is the only university in the UK that is exclusively a postgraduate university. After its foundation, in 1967 it became the Cranfield Institute of Technology. It finally got its current name - Cranfield University in 1993, although it had become a full university in 1969. The campus of Cranfield University is located in Bedfordshire. According to the latest QS World Rankings, the university was ranked 11th in Europe, 5th in the UK and 39th in the world for Manufacturing, Aeronautical and Mechanical Engineering and education.
Infrastructure, Campus and Courses
The main campus of Cranfield University is situated at Cranfield, Bedfordshire. The second campus of the university is located at the Defence Academy of the UK at Shrivenham, Oxfordshire. Cranfield University offers over 150-degree programmes and 400+ professional development courses under its different schools. Cranfield University is divided into the School of Transport and Manufacturing, School of Aerospace, School of Energy and Environment, School of Water, Canfield Defence and Security and School of Management. Cranfield University offers a flagship MBA with an extensive world-class customised executive education. Cranfield University has over 2000 international students from more than 167 countries providing a very high research output.

COVID-19 Response
As the world begins to settle within the chaos brought forth by COVID-19, Cranfield University UK is all set to begin the 2020 academic year. Various health and safety protocols have been put in place and procedures have been modified to ensure social distancing norms are being followed. As per the notification of the university, 70% of the classes will be conducted face-to-face, while, wherever possible, online modes will be available.
Registration to the various courses will be done online
Candidates travelling from countries not exempted from the 14-day quarantine period in the UK must factor in the 14-day period in the travel plans prior to the commencement of the classes.
International students can also avail Free PickUp services from the airport offered by the University, which must be booked through EVE, the student portal of the University.
Induction and completion of the registration process at Cranfield University will be done between 28th September and 23rd October.
Classes are scheduled to begin from 28th September - 5th October, this year.
The latest arrival to the campus for classes is 23rd October 2020, which will be inclusive of the 14-day quarantine period, if applicable.

Cranfield University offers a number of scholarships to its international students. It also offers special scholarships to Indian students specifically. Candidates can explore their options from the scholarships mentioned below and apply to avail the award.
The Cranfield Scholarship: This scholarship is offered to those who display an aptitude and an ability for the subject that a candidate has applied for. It is applicable for full-time masters courses only. Funding for the scholarship will vary between course and applicant.
Chevening Scholarships: The scholarship is applicable for international candidates pursuing masters courses. It covers the tuition fees of up to £18,000, rest paid by the student, Economy travel from the country of residence, cost of entry clearance for you only, etc.
The Global Study Awards: Applicants who have appeared for an IELTS test in a British Council Testing centre and hold a valid ISIC student card are eligible for a scholarship award of £10,000.
Marshal Papworth Fund: The scholarship is offered to provide students from different developing countries to learn and gain horticultural and agricultural skills to enhance and develop a sustainable future for their communities and themselves. The scholarship covers the entire tuition fee and offers up to £8,500 as an annual living allowance.
Commonwealth Shared Scholarship Scheme: Applicable to applicants from developing countries, who otherwise would not be able to study in the UK are eligible for the Commonwealth Shared Scholarship Scheme. The scholarship covers the approved tuition and exam fees and offers a monthly stipend of £1,110 along with other grants as well.

Who Can Apply?
The scholarship is only available for Indian students applying for a full-time Master’s programme.
The scholarship only covers the postgraduate courses offered by the university in Transport Systems, Agrifood, Water, Environment, Energy, Aerospace, Manufacturing and Design.
Candidates must meet the eligibility criteria for the course she/he is applying for.

Who Can Apply?
Candidates who can show both ability and aptitude for the course they have applied for will be considered for the scholarship.
This scholarship is open for all international students applying to master’s courses offered under the Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree.

Applicants must have met the Chevening English language requirement.
A minimum of two years’ work experience is required to get this scholarship.

Who Can Apply?
Candidates must be a citizen of an eligible commonwealth country (includes India).
Must be beginning studies in the UK in September/ October 2020.
Must be applying for a first UK Master’s degree.
Candidates who are unable to afford to study in the UK because of financial constraints can apply for the scholarship.
How to Apply?
Since the CSC does not accept direct applications, candidates will have to apply through either the National nominating agencies or Selected non-governmental organisations and charitable bodies.
Each nominating body has its own selection process, hence may have additional eligibility criteria.
The application is completed via CSC’s online application system. Applications that are not submitted via an online system will not be accepted.
The application must include supporting documents.
