Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU) was established in 1993 by merging two colleges namely - Queen's College (1875) and Glasgow Polytechnic (1971). It is a public university situated in the Glasgow city of Scotland, United Kingdom. The university’s campus is located in Stirling, which is close to Glasgow and Edinburgh.
Infrastructure, Campus & Courses
Every year, the university welcomes over 12,000 students for admission in its undergraduate and postgraduate studies. Numerous courses are offered at the university under five faculties, namely - the Faculty of Arts and Humanities, Faculty of Health Sciences and Sport, Faculty of Natural Sciences, Faculty of Social Sciences and Stirling Management School. Apart from this, it has a number of institutes and centres to offer a wide range of subjects. The university also offers degree courses in partnership with Hebei Normal University of China, Singapore Institute of Management and Muscat College in Oman.
Student Diversity & Visiting Companies
International students at the university come from across 120 nations. International students at the GCU represent 20% of the total students. The university has one of the best placement rates in the country. According to the Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education survey 2016/17, 97% of the undergraduate students are either employed or go for higher education within six months of the completion of the course and 96% postgraduate students get employment or go for higher studies after the completion of course within six months.
