The University of Huddersfield is a public research university established in 1825. It became a university in 1992 with its affiliation with the Association of Commonwealth Universities, University Alliance and Universities UK. Named after the city it is located in, the university is known as a world-class centre of higher education in the UK. The university was named Times Higher Education University of the Year in 2013 and it enjoys a place in the 701-750 range in the 2020 Global Work Rankings compiled by QS Top Universities. Some other accolades earned by the university include being gold-rated by TEF, winning the Global Teaching Excellence Award etc.
Infrastructure, Campus & Courses
A wide range of bachelor’s, master’s, and postgraduate research courses are included in the list of programmes that can be pursued at the University of Huddersfield. The university has four campuses, namely, the Queensgate Campus, University Campus Barnsley, University Campus Oldham and International Study Centre. It is organised into seven academic schools dedicated to various fields of study such as applied sciences, business, human and health sciences, computing and engineering, music and more. A wide range of student organizations can be joined on campus and the university has also invested heavily in campus improvements to ensure that life on campus is as enjoyable as it is enriching.
