The University of Sussex is a leading research university in the UK situated in the South of England near Brighton. It was established in 1960 and received a Royal Charter in 1961. Infrastructure, Campus & Courses
University of Sussex has one of the most beautiful campuses in the UK locations which is situated at Falmer on the outskirts of Brighton. It has an award-winning architecture with greenery all around. The University offers more than 200 undergraduate courses in 46 subject areas. The postgraduate courses offered at the university help students gain in-depth knowledge of the subject which eventually leads to their growth at personal and professional level. The university comprises 2100 staff members among which 1000 are teaching and research staff.

The number of students at the University is more than 16,000. International students at the University of Sussex covers 24% of total students at the university. The university attracts students from different economic backgrounds and cultures as every year, students from across 100 countries enrol for admission in various courses offered at Sussex. Sussex has strong engagement with business and communities and aims to help them by providing skilled staff through training and partnerships. The Sussex Innovation Centre provides support to technology-driven companies in Sussex. Today, the centre provides a business environment to nearly 80 high-growth companies. More than 160 companies have been based at the Centre and they employ hundreds of people locally.
The UK government has divided the regions in the country into tiers as a precautionary measure to limit the spread of COVID-19. University of Sussex is in Tier 4.
As per the new guidelines, only those students who are enrolled in degree programmes like Medicine, Teaching and Social Work have been permitted to return to campus for study from January 4. Other students will have to wait for further notification to join the on-campus classes.
The semester 2 classes at the University of Sussex are likely to begin in online mode. Students facing any COVID-19 symptoms are asked to self isolate themselves and the same should be informed to the concerned department of the university.
University of Sussex offers 25 scholarships for international students under the Chancellor's International Scholarship. The scholarship is offered to students who apply for postgraduate studies at the university. The candidates must demonstrate outstanding academic excellence to be considered for the scholarship.
The eligibility criteria to be considered for the scholarship are as follows:
The applicant must be considered as international for fees purposes.
The candidate must be enrolled in a full-time Master’s programme at the university.
Must have excellent academic grades in the previous year of studies.
Must have an interest in the courses and have clear and specific goals.
Must have received and accepted the offer at the university.
How to Apply for Scholarship?
Candidates who have applied and received the offer letter for the course must apply for the Chancellor’s International Scholarship. They must have excellent academic grades to be considered for a scholarship. While applying for the scholarship the applicant must submit a statement demonstrating interest in academics.
Online application form for the scholarship is available on the official website of the university. Candidates must fill in and submit the application form within the deadline dates.

Value of Scholarship
The scholarship covers 50% of overseas tuition fees.
Sussex India Scholarship is offered to Indian students who apply for Master’s programmes at the University of Sussex. Unlimited scholarships are available under this category. The eligibility criteria to be considered for the scholarship are as follows:
Must be an Indian applicant.
Must be classified as overseas for fee purposes.
Must be a self-financed student.
Must apply and accept an offer for a Master's programme at the university.
Value of Scholarship
There is £3,000 reduction in the tuition fee.
How to Apply for Scholarship?
Candidates can register for interest in scholarship through PG apply while accepting the offer for Master’s course. The eligible candidate will be able to see the information related to scholarship on the CAS (Confirmation of Acceptance for Study) for visa application.
The deadline to apply for a scholarship is 31st January 2021.
