Undergraduate B.E. and B.Tech. programmes at Anna University for 2026 academic session are opened through the Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) counseling conducted on the sole merit basis. There is no separate entrance exam for TNEA counseling. College seat allotment is done on the basis of merit list prepared after considering marks obtained by the candidates in Class 12th or equivalent qualifying examinations. The TNEA process is conducted under the auspices of the Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE), Tamil Nadu. The process of application for TNEA counseling will start from May 2026. Candidates should apply online in TNEA counseling and the application process in TNEA is fairly simple. The detailed academic information in the form of certificates and other documents must be submitted after successful online registration. After the certificate verification by the authorities, the rank list will be announced in July 2026. The choice filling and seat allotment for different engineering branches will be conducted from August 2026. Students may choose the branch of their choice based on their rank.

Anna University Admission Latest Update
TANCET 2026 registration deadline has been extended. The last date to apply is April 15, 2026. Candidates can register online on the official website at tancet.annauniv.edu for admission to MBA and MCA programmes. The TANCET 2026 exam is scheduled to be conducted on May 9, 2026.
JEE Main 2026 Session 2 admit card has been released for exams scheduled on April 5, 6, 7, and 8. Candidates can download the admit card from the official website jeemain.nta.nic.in.
MAT May 2026 session registration is open now. The last date to apply for the MAT 2026 is May 24, 2026 (PBT) and June 8, 2026 (CBT). Interested candidates can fill out the application form online on the official website mat.aima.in for MBA and PGDM admissions. The MAT 2026 exam is scheduled to be held on May 31, 2026 (PBT) and June 14, 2026 (CBT).
Anna University Admissions 2026
Anna University admits students to its Chennai campuses for 2026 through TNEA for UG engineering, starting online registration in June 2025 with merit based on 10+2 marks. PG engineering uses CEAP with GATE 2025 scores or CEETA-PG exam, counselling from July 2025. Application fee is Rs. 500 for general UG, Rs. 1,000 for PG entrance.
