Founded in 1893, American University is a private research university located in Washington, DC of the United States. It is affiliated with the United Methodist Church and holds a QS World University ranking of 651- 700.

Infrastructure, Campus & Courses

The university campus expands over an area of 90 acre it is one of the most beautiful urban college campuses in the country. The university offers over 170 bachelor’s, master’s and doctoral degree programmes in eight different schools of the university. The courses are well-designed to cover both the theoretical and practical aspects. More than 14,000 students are enrolled in various UG, PG and Law Courses at American University. The courses at the American  university are offered by some of the best faculty members  who are internationally recognised. Some of the  distinguished faculty of American University are former ambassadors, elected officials, Oscar winners, Emmys, Pulitzers, and the National Book Award. 

Accomplishments & Alumni

American University has an Alumni Association through which more than 135,000 alumni are connected from across the world. They are free to join the local, regional and international programmes organised by the university. Most of them act as volunteers to serve the university and society by any means possible. American University is strongly engaged in research work and through its research organisations, it aims to achieve its mission and goals to be a leader in research and development. It has 30 centres and institutes to support innovation research. It also receives externally sponsored awards from government agencies and foundations to conduct research work. Students at AU schools, colleges and research centres are also facilitated by the Office of Research work to undertake research based projects.

American University has a rich diversity of students and students from across the countries participate in their degree and research programme. International students at American University come from across 124 countries. According to the university survey, 93% of the graduate students at American University are employed or go for higher studies within six months of the completion of the course. 

COVID-19 Response 

American University decided to conduct all its Fall term courses in online mode in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. There were no changes in the academic calendar of the university and the online classes for the Fall term began form August 21, 2020. The Fall term of 2020 will conclude in the first week of December.

Few selected courses that need practical learning are being conducted on campus with all the safety measures and precautions. In case of any help for campus access, the students can approach the concerned department. 

The Fall term online classes have the same high-quality delivery of classes by the expert faculty of American University. The AU faculty have worked tirelessly to design courses that would keep students actively engaged even from remote locations. The best technology and methodology is used to ensure that there is no compromise in the quality of learning.
