History, Affiliation, and Rankings 

CSU Channel Islands is one of the latest additions to the Calfornia State University System. CSU Channel Islands was established in 2002 on the outskirts of Southern California. The institution is accredited to the Western Association of Schools and Colleges. Channel Islands' ranked at 43 in Regional Universities West by US News 2020 and at 22nd position in Best Undergraduate Teaching.  

Infrastructure, Campus and Courses 

The University has a campus size of  737-acre divided into North Quad and a South Quads. The North Quad is home faculty buildings and the South Quad houses the Student Union, Bell Tower, and most classrooms. The institution has 26 established areas of study, as well as eight academics centers and institutes. The popular courses at the university include  Anthropology, Economics, Early Childhood Studies, Political Science and Psychology. 

Accomplishments & Alumni 

CSU Channel Islands is the first four-year public university in Ventura county.  The CSU Channel Islands Business and Technology Partnership help cultivate the joint effort of innovation and related assistance based organizations with the college through internship programs and scholarships. A few alumni of CSU Channel Islands include Sean Anderson, Cynthia Wyels, Jack Reilly, Sung Won Sohn. 

Student Diversity and Visiting companies

More than 7000 students joined various undergraduate and graduate courses at CSU Channel Islands. The institution has positive gender diversity with almost 65% women and 35% of men pursuing 26 major and minor courses.  Approximately 48.6% are Hispanic or Latino and  5.62% are of Asian origin at the campus. There are about 200 international students belonging to 23 countries with the majority from Germany, India, and France. 

Students from all academic majors and class levels, as well as alumni, attend the placement fairs held each semester. Top employers include Google, Facebook, Amazon, etc.
