History, Affiliation and Rankings 

Established in 1952 with a proposal of a new satellite campus for Los Angeles State College, California State University, Northridge (CSUN) was founded as a state-funded college in the Northridge area of Los Angeles, California. Apart from being affiliated with the California State University system, CSUN is also affiliated with The American Association of State Colleges and Universities (AASCU), the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU) and the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC). This college is positioned at #49 in Regional Universities by US News 2020 edition. The University has also been ranked by the Times Higher Education US Ranking 2020 at 375th position.

Infrastructure, Campus and Courses

CSUN is spread across 356 acres. Under CSUN, the David Nazarian College of Business and Economics is one of the biggest business colleges in the country. The most popular majors at California State University--Northridge include Business, Management, Marketing, and Related Support Services; Social Sciences; Health Professions and Related Programs; Psychology; and Communication, Journalism, and Related Programs.

Accomplishments & Alumni

The film school and the music school of CSUN has been recognized among the best in the U.S. and World. The university has been committed to excellence and hence has been recognized in several fields. In 2017, The Wall Street Journal positioned the college for getting racially and financially differing students. CSUN has above 330,000 graduate classes that furnish new alumni with a system of associations in California, the country over and around the world. Prominent alumni include Mike Curb, Joan Chen, Cheech Marin, Don Hahn, Andy Summers, Paula Abdul, Linda Lingle and many more.

Student Diversity and Visiting companies

As per the academic year, 2015–16, the number of foreign students who attended U.S institutions exceeded the one million mark. During the same year, CSUN was ranked as the number one Master's institution, having the highest number of international students in the United States. The total number of international students for that academic year totaled 3,924.
