Dallas Baptist University (DBU) is a Christian Liberal Art University in Dallas, Texas. It was founded in 1898 as Decatur Baptist College. In 1968, the college got senior college status and in 1970, the first four-year degree course was offered. In 1985, the name of the school was officially changed to Dallas Baptist University. The university is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. It is also affiliated to the Baptist General Convention of Texas. According to US News & World Report 2020 edition, DBU is ranked #281 (tie) in National Universities and #303 in Top Performer in Social Mobility.

Notable Alumni of DBU include Ben Zobrist (baseball player, two times world series champion, 2016 world series most valuable player), David O’Neal Brown (Chief of Dallas Police Department), and Gwyn Shea (former Texas Secretary of State).
