For Undergraduate Students

A limited number of merit-based scholarships are available for international applicants from India at Florida Atlantic University. Students enrolled for undergraduate degree programme are eligible to receive the following scholarship:

Depan International Freshman Student Scholarship

It is offered to students who have shown outstanding academic achievement and submitted proof of English proficiency.

Value: $2,000 per annum (total $8,000 for upto 4 years)

Eligibility

  • Candidates must be admitted into a degree-seeking course.

  • Must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA.

  • Must show evidence of community service or high school involvement.

How to Apply?

Depan International Freshman Student Scholarship is available for Spring and Fall terms only. A limited number of scholarships are available under this category and it is highly competitive. 

Applicants must apply for the degree programme based on which they will be considered for scholarship. Various factors like grades, test scores, extracurricular activities, leadership qualities etc. is considered to award the scholarship.

Candidates must complete the admission application form and submit it before the deadline to be considered for scholarship. 

For Postgraduate Students

Students pursuing postgraduate study at Florida Atlantic University have the following options to fund their education. However, candidates must note that these financial aid options are only available to students via their respective colleges or departments.

Graduate Assistantships

Assistantships are specific to various departments and colleges, and made available based on needs. Information about these assistantships can be obtained from the Facebook page of Graduate College or the Employment Opportunities page of the Human Resource Centre of FAU.

International students are allowed to work for up to 20 hours per week, during the Fall and Spring session, in these assistantships. As a compensation, the university provides a waiver on the tuition fees.

Graduate Diversity Fellowship

It is offered to postgraduate students who can demonstrate their contribution towards increasing the diversity of the student body. The fellowship is subjective and requires submission of a Personal Statement, Resume and Faculty Recommendations.

Value: $2,500

Eligibility

The students must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours in the summer semester in a master’s degree-seeking programme.
Must have completed a minimum of 9 hours of coursework relevant to their degree and have at least 12 credit hours remaining in their programme.

Graduate Fellowship for Academic Excellence

It is offered to students who achieve excellence in the postgraduate course of studies at the Florida Atlantic University.  

Value: $5,000

Eligibility

  • The student must be enrolled in a full-time degree-seeking programme.

  • Must have completed at least 1 semester in a postgraduate programme.

  • Must have a minimum GPA of 3.50
