Grand Canyon University started as Grand Canyon College in 1949 and in 1951 it shifted to West Phoenix and it received full accreditation in 1968 by Commission on Institution of Higher Education. The college received university status in 1984. The university is ranked Best Colleges is National Universities,#293 — #381 according to the US News and World Report 2020 Edition.

Infrastructure, Campus & Courses

The main campus of GCU is in Phoenix. The university grants undergraduate degrees through six colleges, including the Ken Blanchard College of Business and the College of Fine Arts and Production. Popular courses include Psychology, Business & Management, Teaching & School Administration, Nursing & Health Care, Criminal Justice, Government & Public Administration, and Engineering & Technology.

Accomplishments & Alumni

With an intention to support programs to improve and provide educational opportunities for the K12 community, students, educational professionals and parents, GCU offers to help students and educational professionals with programs such as high school dual enrollment, the GCU Learning Lounge and our Educational Outreach and Support programs. Notable alumni in American attorneys Kevin Fulbright Warren, Rachel Hope Mitchell, Mexican mixed martial artist Efraín Escudero to name a few.
