History, Affiliations & Rankings

Hope International University (HIU) was founded in 1928 as a Pacific Bible Seminary and is now a private Christian university in Fullerton, California. The institution achieved university status and got the corporate name of Hope International University in 1997. In early 2015, HIU collaborated with Nebraska Christian College (NCC) of Papillion in order to explore the possibility of further partnership. HIU finalized its merger with NCC in May 2016. Hope International University is ranked #87- #113 in Regional Universities West by US News 2020. 

Infrastructure, Campus & Courses

Hope International University's main campus is located in North Orange County, in the city of Fullerton, California, and is spread across 18-acres. HIU primarily has five colleges, which include various programs namely Pacific Christian College of Ministry & Biblical Studies, College of Arts and Sciences, College of Psychology and Counselling, College of Education, and College of Business & Management. The university provides students leadership and service-focused education through their undergraduate and graduate degree programs in business, education, ministry, music, psychology, human development and other social sciences. 

Accomplishments & Alumni

Royals, the teams of Hope International are part of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), primarily competing in the Golden State Athletic Conference (GSAC). Notable alumni of the University are Tyrone Wells who is an American singer-songwriter from Spokane, Washington, Kris Rosales who is a Filipino-American professional basketball player for the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters of the Philippine Basketball Association, Brian Telestai an American actor, voice actor, musician, and stand-up comedian based out of Boise, Idaho, and Dudley Rutherford who is the senior pastor of Shepherd Church in Porter Ranch, Los Angeles, California. 

Student Diversity & Visiting Companies

The student to faculty ratio at HIU is 14:1, and the school has 23% of its classes with fewer than 20 students with a gender distribution of 43 percent male students and 57 percent female students. The university campus is safe and is quite friendly towards students coming from different corners of the world. The Office of Career Development provides assistance and resources to ensure that students are supported academically and professionally during and after graduating. The various ways include internship fairs, career fairs, job search training, interview training, and networking events and opportunities. Companies like Apple, Google, Alphabet Inc., Western Digital Corp. hire graduates from Hope International University.
