Indiana University South Bend is also known as IU South Bend. It is a public university in South Bend, Indiana. IU South Bend is the 3rd largest campus of Indiana University. It was established in 1916.  Indiana University started offering classes in South Bend in 1922. The setting is in the city. The classes were held at Central High School in downtown South Bend. IU South Bend got its accreditation from the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). Indiana University—South Bend is ranked #117-#153 in the 2020 edition of Best Colleges among Regional Universities Midwest.

Infrastructure, Campus & Courses

The Indiana University—South Bend campus is spread over 105 acres. The University offers a number of student services, including non-remedial tutoring, placement service, daycare, health service, and health insurance. The University also offers safety and security services for its students like 24-hour foot and vehicle patrols, lighted pathways/sidewalks, late-night transport/escort service, 24-hour emergency telephones, controlled dormitory access (key, security card, etc.)

Accomplishments & Alumni

There are a number of on- and off-campus activities initiated by the university. More than 100 clubs and student organizations are there, which includes the Student Government Association, Titan Productions, political and also spiritual groups.
The university is also associated with the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA). It is also a member of the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference (CCAC).

Notable Alumni are Alexander Toradze, Tuck Langland,  Frances Sherwood, Harold Zisla, and many more.

Student Diversity & Visiting Companies

There are 7,512 undergraduate students and 561 graduate students with a total of 8,073 students. Predominantly white, the undergraduate gender distribution is positive with 37% male students and 63% female students. The student-faculty ratio is 13:1. Though most students come from Indiana, the university has a modest number of international students coming from 50 countries, majorly from China,  India, and  South Korea.

The various services are provided to the students for placements and the Office of Student Services provides them with on-campus career placement, child development, and learning and writing resume. Various companies visiting for placements are IWG plc, Hathaway Home Services, Lead Angels, Elkhart Community Schools, and many more.
