 Indiana University—Purdue University Columbus is also known as IUPUC. It is a public university in Columbus, Indiana. IUPUC was founded in 1970. The origin of IUPUC was an extension of Indiana University – Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI).  The setting is urban. The extension had no single campus, rather offering classes in various locations throughout Columbus. An old airport building was converted to be the first central campus building for IUPUC. But it was renovated for academic use in 1985. The chancellor of IUPUI renamed IUPUI Columbus to IUPUC in 1994.

Indiana University-Purdue University—Columbus is ranked #228 in the 2020 edition of Best Colleges among National Universities.

Infrastructure, Campus & Courses

IUPUC campus is spread in 536 acres of land. The University offers degree programs from both Indiana University as well as Purdue University. The campus offers a number of student services, including non-remedial tutoring, placement service, daycare, health service, health insurance. The University also offers security services like 24-hour foot and vehicle patrols, lighted pathways/sidewalks, late-night transport/escort service, controlled dormitory access (key, security card, etc.).
