Founded in the year 1922 La Sierra University is a private institution located in Riverside, California. Many new courses were introduced to its curriculum from 1923 onwards and in the year 1967 it merged with Loma Linda University as its College of Arts and Sciences. In 1986 the School of Business and Management and the Division of Continuing Studies were introduced. It is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and the Adventist Accrediting Association (AAA). According to the US News rankings 2020 edition, La Sierra University is ranged in the top 53 in Regional Universities West and is in the top 23 Best Value Schools. 

Infrastructure, Campus & Courses

La Sierra has a 150-acre campus. It promotes religious tolerance, human rights, and personal empowerment. The education here includes plenty of real-world experience to help your career take off. The courses offered at the university are mainly by the following schools: Tom & Vi Zapara School of Business, School of Education, H.M.S. Richards Divinity, College of Arts and Sciences and Division of Continuing Studies.

The most popular majors include Criminal Justice/Safety Studies, Exercise Science, Business Administration and Management, Biomedical Sciences, and Liberal Arts and Sciences. Besides, Certificate, Diploma, Bachelor's, Master's, Post-master's certificate, Doctorate - other, Doctorate - research/scholarship, and Combined-degree programs offered are- Chemistry Premed, Biology Premed, and Religious-Studies Pre-seminary. 
 
ACCOMPLISHMENTS

One of the distinct accomplishments of the students of this University is that in the year 2002 the ENACTUS Team (former Students of Le Sierra University) won the SIFE World Cup. Also, La Sierra ENACTUS students won the SIFE World Cup again in 2007. Furthermore, several students partake in mission work around the world. Besides encouraging research and publication by both teachers and students, the University aims to promote courses and curriculum that will predict the future possibilities and requirements of its alumni. Notable alumni include Fritz Guy, Barbara De Angelis, Bill Emerson, Hope Anita Smith, and Cecelia Ann Shepard.

The ratio of students and faculty at La Sierra University is 14:1, and the school has 61.3 percent of its classes with fewer than 20 students. The first buildings that were built included two-story separate male and female dormitories. The university is quite welcoming towards international students as well.
