Overview

History, Affiliations, and Rankings 

John Fitz Allen Howard in 1906 in Davenport, Iowa built up the National University of Health Sciences as the "National School of Chiropractic". Later, In 1908, the school moved to Chicago. NUHS is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC), of the North Central Association (NCA). The university is unranked. 

Infrastructure, Campus and Courses

National University's 38-acre campus in the suburban Lombard, Illinois, a quiet, safe, secured, and family-oriented area. National University offers several programs, including doctor of chiropractic (DC) and doctor of naturopathic medicine (ND) degrees, and Master of Science degrees in acupuncture (MSAc) and oriental medicine (MSOM). An associate degree and certificate in massage therapy and a bachelor's degree completion program in biomedical sciences are also offered.

Popular courses include Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Science, Associate of Applied Science in Massage Therapy, Massage Therapy Certificate, Prerequisite Program, First Professional, Doctor of Chiropractic Medicine, Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine, Master of Science in Acupuncture.

Student Diversity and Visiting company

Roughly 550 students have been admitted for the spring 2020 session. The student-faculty ratio at NUHS is 6:1. The gender diversity of NUHS is positive with 43.3% men and 56.7% women. Few international students also attend the institution. National University of Health Sciences has received an excellent ranking for ethnic diversity nationally at #326 by the US News 2020 edition.
