It is a public research university located in West Lafayette city in Indiana, United States. The main building of the university (University Hall) was constructed in 1877, which is the central building on Purdue campus and today it is the oldest building on campus. The QS Global University Ranking of Purdue University is 111. The Wall Street Journal and Times Higher Education recognise Purdue University as the fifth-best public university in the US. Starting its life on 100 acres of land and four buildings, Purdue University now has four campuses including campuses in West Lafayette (Main Campus), Fort Wayne, Indianapolis and Purdue Northwest. While it is best known for its STEM Programmes, Purdue University also offers courses in areas such as pharmacy and veterinary medicine, elementary education, and other innovative programmes to prepare students for the competitive job market.
