The Sacred Heart University was founded in 1963 by Bishop Walter W. Curtis. The key objective of this university at that time was to provide education to the society, regardless of the creed, race, sex, or religion. Sacred Heart University is ranked #218 in the 2020 edition of Best Colleges in National Universities.
Infrastructure, Campus & Courses
Campus is spread over 350 acres and Its setting is suburban. The university splits into six colleges, including the St. Vincent's College, Jack Welch College of Business & Technology, College of Health Professions, College of Arts & Sciences, School of Communication, Media & the Arts, School of Social Work, School of Computer Science and Engineering, College of Nursing, and Isabelle Farrington College of Education. It is the only university to offer a certified American MBA programme in Luxembourg.
The central campus of SHU is in Fairfield, Connecticut and it is nearby to the city of Boston and Manhattan. The satellite campuses are in Stamford and Griswold. Additionally, the university has two international campuses in Ireland and Luxembourg. The main campus offers many student-friendly amenities, such as dining facilities, health care facilities, a broadcast center and an arts center. The university provides free shuttle services to the students which run all week long. In addition to that, on-campus accommodations are available for the students. Currently, it offers a plethora of undergraduate and graduate degrees in the fields of accounting, communications, nursing, and engineering. The university offers nearly 20 study abroad programmes to the students in 17 countries around the world, including SHU campuses in Luxembourg and Dingle, Ireland.
Accomplishments & Alumni
SHU is home to many notable alumni, who are now pursuing noteworthy careers. Some of them are professional wrestler Romeo Roselli, singer and songwriter Jeff LeBlanc, footballer Jon Corto, American politician Pat Boyd, model and actress Lydia Hearst-Shaw, and former soccer player Matt Jones. Additionally, one of the successful alumni of this university is Suzanne Greco. She is the former CEO of the popular fast-food chain, called Subway.

The university accepts international enrolment from more than 40 countries in the world.
