Southern Illinois University Edwardsville was founded in 1957 as an extension of Southern Illinois University Carbondale. It is a public university accreditation from the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. It is one of the two institutes in the Southern Illinois University system, a system of public universities in the southern region of the U.S. state of Illinois. Infrastructure, Campus & Courses 

SIUE has three campuses:  The SIU School of Dental Medicine is located on the Alton campus, the SIUE East St. Louis Center offers exemplary services and innovative programs and the Edwardsville campus is home to nearly 13,000 students. Southern Illinois University Edwardsville is a beautiful campus that extends across an area of 2,660 acres. The campus is surrounded by forests, woodlands and lakes. Top restaurants, shops, parks and entertainment centres can be found in the vicinity of the campus. Various sponsored concerts, art exhibits and theatrical productions, guest lectures, sports contests, and other events are conducted on campus each year. SIUE awards 43 undergraduate and 67 graduate programs in the arts and sciences, engineering business, education, nursing, dental medicine and pharmacy.

Student Diversity & Visiting Companies 

SIUE enrols more than 14,000 students at undergraduate, graduate and doctoral levels of studies. These students represent more than 41 states and 45 countries.  Around 3,000 students including international students choose to live on campus at SIUE. The student to faculty ratio at SIUE is 17: 1. The university has a Career Development Center that offers numerous services to help students with employment opportunities. It includes creating an effective resume, career counselling, shortlisting jobs, mock interviews and networking with employers. SIUE ’s CDC also hosts a career fair to help employers connect with its students and Alumni.  

Accomplishments & Alumni 

SIUE is ranked among the top 50 master’s granting colleges and universities in the nation for contributions to the public good. Graduates of SIUE have a significant employment success rate. Most Alumni find a full-time job, co-op or internships opportunities soon after the completion of their studies. They can also participate in the SIUE CDC career fairs or access its services to find the most suitable job.
