St. Ambrose University, founded as a seminary and school of commerce for young men in 1882, is a private Roman Catholic liberal arts university in Davenport, Iowa. It is affiliated with the Diocese of Davenport. Although the university became fully coeducational in 1968 women had been taking classes on campus ever since the 1930s. St. Ambrose University holds accreditation from the Higher Learning Commission and many other program-specific like Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs, The Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board of Engineering and Technology, Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) of the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA). St. Ambrose University's ranked 27th in the US News 2020 edition of Best Colleges is Regional Universities Midwest. Times Higher Education ranked it between 401-500th in the
US Rankings 2020.

Infrastructure, Campus & Courses

St. Ambrose University is situated in Davenport, Iowa. It is spread over 118 acres of land in the metropolitan area of the Quad Cities – a bi-state (Iowa and Illinois) sitting on the only major stretch of the Mississippi River that runs from east to west. The institute offers programs and degrees in more than 60 majors with the flexibility to mix majors, minors, and electives to match students’ interests. It offers one of the only Master of Occupational Therapy programs in the state of Iowa. It offers 13 master's degree programs and three doctoral programs, namely, physical therapy, occupational therapy and business administration along with 29 athletic teams and sports to join on campus.

Accomplishments & Alumni 

St. Ambrose University has been recognized as a College of Distinction because of its constancy in successful outcomes, great methods of teaching, creating a spirited community and diversifying culture, and imparting quality education to its engaged students. The two-year pass average rate for the National Physical Therapy Examination is 97%. The university’s academic sports team ranks number one. It tops the NAIA with 23 scholars. Some of the notable alumni are Bishop William Lawrence Adrian, Bishop of Nashville; Fr. Edward Catich, calligrapher, artist, author; Bishop David Choby, a Bishop of Nashville; Duffy Conroy, an assistant coach with the Milwaukee Panthers men's basketball team; Abbey Curran, the American beauty queen. 

Student Diversity & Visiting Companies

The student body of the university is diverse as it represents students from more than 23 countries, LGBTQ community, students of color, and 60 percent females. More than 12 percent of students identify themselves as a minority. The student-faculty ratio is approximately 12 to 1 with an average class size of 20 students. Approximately 4.3% of the student body is represented by international students from 23 countries with the majority belonging to Saudi Arabia, India, and the UK. The university receives visits from several corporate giants like Microsoft, Google, Alphabet to provide the students with employment opportunities.
