Towson University is a public university situated in Towson, Maryland established in 1866. It has enrolled more than 20,000 students. The university is accredited by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education and Maryland State Department of Education. The ranking of the university is 197 among the National Universities as ranked by US News 2020 Best Colleges edition.

Infrastructure, Campus & Courses

There are eight colleges under the university with ample graduate and undergraduate courses. The names of the colleges are College of Business and Economics, College of Education, College of Fine Arts and Communication, College of Health Professions, College of Liberal Arts, Jess and Mildred Fisher College of Science and Mathematics, Honors College, and College of Graduate Studies and Research. In total, there are 37 masters, 64 undergraduate, 4 doctoral programmes. Popular courses accounting, acting, allied health, art and design, art education, art history, athletic training, biology, business administration, chemistry, communication studies, computer science, dance performance and choreography, deaf studies to name a few.

Accomplishments & Alumni 

Accomplishments at the university have made history, for instance, in the year 2015 Jay Tucker award was distributed in Arts Education for outstanding leadership, in 2014 National Association for Gifted Children honoured President’s Award, Dr. Grasmick presented as a columnist for Baltimore Sun from the year 2015 till 2016. There are several other awards won by the University.
Several famous alumni have passed out from this university such as Dwight Schultz who is an actor, Amy Schumer who is a comedian, Mike Rowe an activist, producer, actor, Sheila Dixon as Politician, Sean Landeta an American Football Player and many others.

The diversity at the university is more than the average percentage and the University has ranked 531 in ethnic diversity within the nation. There are more than 800 international students now who are studying at the university. The university is a prime member of various companies such as Alrotra, which is a web-based music learning company, Aman Enterprises, Co-Author for child-adult creations enriching minds, CourseArc, EdVario and many more. Companies hiring include Trader Joe's, Target, Pepsico, etc.
