The University of Central Arkansas is one of the oldest public universities in the US state of Arkansas. It is a well-known university for programs in nursing, education, psychology, and business. It is ranked above 800 under THE Ranking. Also ranked #293-381 as Best Colleges in National Universities as per the US News and World Report 2020 Edition. It is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. It also has program-specific accreditations including AACSB for business programs, CAEP for education, National Association of Schools of Music for music programs. The postgraduate program in athletic training is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education.

Accomplishments & Alumni
The Global Education Project (GEP) at the university is a special program that gives students of a few universities around the universities the opportunity to study for one semester or an academic year at UCA. Currently, only students enrolled in select partner universities are eligible for this program central Arkansas hosts a challenging course and a recreation center with a cardio room and 3 exercise studios. The university has a long list of alumni who are successful in their professional fields. Prominent among them are James Dickey, basketball college coach, Jimmy Driftwood, musician, Gil Gerard, actor, and Dee Brown, author, Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee.
