University of Central Florida was founded in 1968 as Florida Technological University and was renamed as the University of Central Florida in 1978. It is one of the largest universities in the United States. UCF has a team of the best faculty and staff to guide the students throughout their academics and they are well-known to deliver quality teaching and moral values to them.
The QS World University ranking of University of Central Florida ranges between 701-750.
Infrastructure, Campus & Courses
The main campus of UCF is located in east Orlando and it expands across an area of 1415 acre. The campus size is highly impressive with all modern facilities and state-of-the-art technology. Apart from the main campus, UCF has 13 campuses throughout Central Florida. In these campuses, more than 220-degree programmes are offered including the online degree programmes which are offered to students who are interested in distance learning programmes.

University of Central Florida has more than 300,000 alumni across the world. Every person who is a part of UCF has reached new heights and is serving society in one way or another. The alma mater of UCF stays connected with the university and motivates current students to achieve excellence in their innovative learning programme. At UCF, the researchers are highly intellectual and work towards creating innovative solutions for a problem. They also promote economic development of the society through technology and creation of ideas and solutions for the next generation. Every year, UCF receives around $200 million as award, grants and gifts foer research and development work.
Student Diversity & Visiting Companies
Every year, the university enrolls 68,000 students in various courses and these students are from more than 150 countries. In addition to academics, UCF has various social clubs and organisations for social gathering and interaction. At UCF, ample opportunities are available for the growth and success of the students. UCF supports innovative thinking and the viewpoints of the students. It encourages the students, faculty and staff to make use of their full potential to achieve excellence.
COVID-19 Response- (Spring 2021 Term)
50% of classes for Spring 2021 term at UCF are to be conducted face to face. Other courses are offered in an online or blended format. Those who will be returning to campus will have to follow the guidelines mentioned below:
Maintain physical distancing and cover face covering.
Complete the COVID training and take COVID 19 self-checker before returning to campus
International students arriving in the United States, effective from January 26, 2021, will be required to provide a negative COVID 19 test report within 72 hours of before the boarding.
On-campus Residence: The on-campus housing facilities are also available for students. Students staying in the campus need to complete a daily self-assessment for symptoms through the COVID Self-Checker on the UCF Mobile app.
Merit-based scholarship is offered to freshmen and transfer students at the University of Central Florida. The scholarship is offered to students who have outstanding academic credentials in the previous qualifications. Students who are enrolled in the first year are directly considered for scholarship. They need not fill the application for a scholarship. Transfer students must submit an application for the scholarship.
Apart from merit-based scholarship, the individual academic department also offers scholarship to meritorious students. Students are encouraged to check the scholarship offered by the department and complete the procedure to avail the scholarship.
Students can access the UCF’s Scholarship Application System and complete the one-time application to be considered for more than 200 scholarships offered by the university and also access hundreds of external scholarships. Students can create an account on the Access 2 Opportunities (A2O) and apply for scholarship.
Note: International students who hold F1 or F2 student visas are not eligible for any federal student aid. They are only considered for merit-based scholarship offered by department and scholarship offered by external organisations.
