The University of Dayton is a Catholic, Marianist university which was founded in 1850. It is located in Dayton city of Ohio Province in the United States. The University of Dayton is ranked number 132 among the list of national universities. The University of Dayton has been religiously affiliated to Catholic terms and is considered as the no.1 Catholic university for engineering Research and Development.

More than 80 Bachelor’s courses at the University of Dayton and 50 Master’s courses at the University of Dayton are offered. The university also offers 12 Doctoral Programme as well as licensure and certificate programmes.The number of students at the University of Dayton who are enrolled in Full- time UG courses are 8200 while 2600 students are enrolled for admission in graduate and law students. COVID-19 Response

The University of Dayton is preparing to bring students back to campus this fall with the university's guiding protocols in place. The UD Path Forward Task Force, together with various working groups, local health professionals and expert medical panels have developed the plans after a series of consultations and surveys of constituents across the university campus. Find UD's response to COVID-19 in detail below:

  • Starting this Fall (2021), UD will be offering only in-person course options for undergraduate students which means students cannot study remotely.

  • Graduate international students should check what course modalities are offered online and plan accordingly. Students enrolled in Master's programs that will be offered mostly in-person should plan to be on campus.

  • International students who began their studies after May 9, 2020, cannot study entirely online.

  • UD strongly urges all students to get Covid vaccination (both FDA and WHO approved will be accepted).

  • International students who are vaccinated do not have to quarantine upon arrival. However, they must still be tested.

  • As on June 2, 2021, many countries including India continue to remain affected by travel restrictions in the US.

  • Continuing students from restricted countries can eneter the US 30 days before the start date of the next session.

Merit Scholarship

Merit based scholarship is offered to undergraduate first year students. Students who apply for admission at the University of Dayton are automatically considered for merit scholarships. There is no application fee for the same. 

The value of scholarship can go up to $29,000 per year. Some of the merit scholarships at UD are as follows: 

  • Father Chaminade Award- $62,000 To $74,000

  • Deans' Merit Scholarship- $80,000 To $90,000

  • President's Merit Scholarship- $95,000 To $105,000

  • Trustees' Merit Scholarship- $110,000 To $121,000

Textbook Scholarship

Candidates may be eligible for a $4,000 scholarship over four years to cover the expenses on textbooks. 
 

You are Welcome Here Scholarships

To support international students applying to UD, the university is offering #YouAreWelcomeHere scholarships that encourage students from across the world to study in the US. Under this, two scholarships will be granted and each scholarship will cover at least half of the student’s annual tuition. The award can be renewed every year. Eligibility criteria for the scholarship are as follows:

  • Must have a first-year international applicant who holds citizenship in a country outside the US.
  • Must have interest and personal initiative in activities based on intercultural learning and exchange.
  • Must have completed the scholarship application along with a 500-1,000 word essay or a 2-5 minute video stating projects or research to advance intercultural learning.  
     

National Merit- UD Sponsored

National Merit Scholarships are awarded to National Merit Finalists who choose the Univesity of Dayton as their first-choice school. The value of the scholarship may range between $1,000 and $2,000 every year based on the students' need.
