COVID-19 Response
The University of Dayton is preparing to bring students back to campus this fall with the university's guiding protocols in place. The UD Path Forward Task Force, together with various working groups, local health professionals and expert medical panels have developed the plans after a series of consultations and surveys of constituents across the university campus. Steps recommended by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Public Health Dayton Montgomery County, the Ohio Department of Health, and other federal, state and local organisations are being taken to combat the outbreak.
Classes will begin on August 24, 2020 and students can complete the semester online with no Fall break. Proof of a negative test performed shall be produced by students five days before arrival on campus.
Classes will be delivered in-person to the extent possible. However, UD faculty will try to continue with online instruction.
Comprehensive exams may be administered before the departure for Thanksgiving week.
Faculty, staff, students and visitors are required to wear face coverings in common indoor environments and maintain at least 6-foot physical distancing requirements on campus.
New students can come to UD, if they can obtain visas, but cannot be registered entirely online.
All students who have recently travelled will be tested for COVID-19.
International students will be allowed to work on-campus jobs in Fall 2020. However, the hours and schedules may be reduced or changed.

Merit based scholarship is offered to undergraduate first year students. Students who apply for admission at the University of Dayton are automatically considered for merit scholarships. There is no application fee for the same.
The value of scholarship can go up to $109,000 over four years. Some of the merit scholarships at UD are as follows:
Father Chaminade Award- $53,000 To $65,000
Deans' Merit Scholarship- $71,000 To $81,000
President's Merit Scholarship- $83,000 To $91,000
Trustees' Merit Scholarship- $99,000 To $109,000
Candidates may be eligible for a $4,000 scholarship over four years to cover the expenses on textbooks.
To support international students applying to UD, the university is offering #YouAreWelcomeHere scholarships that encourage students from across the world to study in the US. Under this, two scholarships will be granted and each scholarship will cover at least half of the student’s annual tuition. The award can be renewed every year. Eligibility criteria for the scholarship are as follows:
