The University of Maine at Augusta (UMA) is located in Augusta, Maine. It is a public University and also considered as a regional state university. This college is a part of the University of Maine System. The University was established in 1965. It was approved as a campus of the University of Maine in September 1967. UMA is an accredited member of the Yankee Small College Conference (YSCC) which is in the United States Collegiate Athletic Association (USCAA). The University of Maine—Augusta's ranking in the 2020 edition of Best Colleges is Regional Colleges North, #36-#46.

Infrastructure, Campus & Courses
 

The university has its campuses in Bangor and Augusta. The courses are offered online and across the state. UMA is recognized nationally for providing online baccalaureate degrees in information and library science. It started offering online courses in summers, 2009 to the Maine Army National Guard unit stationed in Kandahar, Afghanistan. It has baccalaureate and select associate degrees for residents of Central Maine. The UMA is divided into 2 primary academic colleges. One is the College of Arts and Sciences and the other is the College of Professional Studies. Both colleges are an academic division of the university. The administrative responsibilities are taken by the dean. Colleges are organized into departments and also programs. Each and every department represents an academic discipline (like Architecture, Nursing, and Mathematics,) or a related set of disciplines (e.g. Business, Natural Sciences, and Humanities). The University offers 17 baccalaureate degrees, 13 non-degree certificate programs, and 15 associate degrees.
 
Accomplishments & Alumni 

The University of Maine at Augusta collaborates with other campuses of the University of Maine System and other constituencies such as private colleges, community colleges, libraries, businesses, industry, government and communication organizations to attain mutual support of institutional and educational goals. Also, it encourages faculty, staff, and students to participate in public service that contributes to the growth and development of UMA’s communities and constituents. Notable alumni are: Olga Fonda, Graham Hunter, James Hamper, Doona Doore, Carol Grose.

The University of Maine at Augusta has a total of 4,128 enrolled students. By gender, 1,253 male and 2,875 female students (male-female ratio: 30:70) are attending UMA. All 4,128 students are enrolled in undergraduate programs at UMA. With a modest number of international students presently pursuing higher education, the university welcomes students from all parts of the world.
