The University of Massachusetts Dartmouth is one of the five UMass campuses located in North Dartmouth, Massachusetts. Founded in 1895 this Public University of USA is serving as a leading education centre in the region of South Coast, USA. Infrastructure, Campus & Courses

Student Diversity & Visiting Companies

According to the UMassD analysis, study abroad students from more than 50 countries are currently pursuing higher education at the university campus. Regular campus activities help students bond with one another, cultural events and community clubs encourage students to connect well. UMassD provides multiple scholarships to international students pursuing UG courses on the basis of their academic records. With an approx acceptance rate of 76%, UMass Dartmouth is one the top study abroad Universities. The university offers two types of student employment programmes- federal work-study and non-work study along with assisting them in their job and internship search.

Covid-19 Response

As the Covid cases continue to rise in the United States, UMass Dartmouth is monitoring the situation in the community and instituting and updating policies to ensure the health and safety of students, staff and faculty. All amends made by the university in response to the global pandemic do not compromise on its academic standards:

  • A good number of in-person will be conducted to make sure that students make timely progress towards the completion of their programme.

  • Students who have at least one in-person class or they live on campus will be testes for Covid-19 every week.

  • No changes have been made to its academic calendar. For the 2021-22 academic year, the first day of classes will be conducted on January 15, 2021, and law classes will begin on January 4, 2021. Spring break is to begin on March 5, 2021.

  • For prospective students and families, campus visits are allowed only if they have registered in advance.

  • Before arriving in Massachusetts, students need to complete the Massachusetts Travel.

  • International students, when allowed to enter Massachusetts, should quarantine for 14 days or provide a negative COVID-19 test result, obtained 72 hours prior to arrival.

UMass Dartmouth Scholarships for International Students

University Of Massachusetts, Dartmouth offers a number of scholarships to students from outside of the US. Given below are the same along with their eligibility criteria:

Chancellor’s Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to students for a total of four years only if the student maintains a full-time status (12 credits in every semester) along with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. In case the applicant is unable to maintain full-time status (less than 12 credits in every semester) and/or drops below the minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, the scholarship would be cancelled.

Eligibility Criteria: 

  • Must be a first-year applicant
  • Should have a combined SAT Math & Evidence-Based Reading and Writing score of at least 1200 or a minimum ACT score of 25
  • Should have a minimum GPA of 3.3

Dean’s Scholarship

The Dean’s scholarship at UMass Dartmouth is awarded to students for a total of four years only if the student maintains a full-time status (12 credits in every semester) along with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. In case the applicant is unable to maintain full-time status (less than 12 credits in every semester) and/or drops below the minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, the scholarship would be cancelled.

Eligibility Criteria: 

  • Must be a first-year applicant
  • Should have a combined SAT Math & Evidence-Based Reading and Writing score of at least 1100 or a minimum ACT score of 22
  • Should have a minimum GPA of 3.0

UMassD Admissions Award

The UMassD Admissions Award is granted to students for a total of four years only if the student maintains a full-time status (12 credits in every semester) along with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. In case the applicant is unable to maintain full-time status (less than 12 credits in every semester) and/or drops below the minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0, the scholarship would be cancelled.

Eligibility Criteria: 

  • Must be a first-year applicant
  • Should have a combined SAT Math & Evidence-Based Reading and Writing score of at least 900 or a minimum ACT score of 20
  • Should have a minimum GPA of 2.7

UMassD Success Scholarship

The UMassD Success Scholarship is granted to students that manage to maintain full-time status (12-day credits every semester) for a total of four years. 

UMassD IYF Award

This award is open to selected students for a total of four years only if the student maintains a full-time status (12-day credits in every semester).

Note: Students enrolled in online and continuing education courses will not be eligible for these scholarships.
