The University of New Hampshire is considered to be New Hampshire’s Flagship Public research university. It was founded in 1866 with the intent of providing higher education with cutting edge technology. The location of the university is such that the main campus is reachable from Ocean to mountains and from one of the busiest cities of the world; Boston. Statistically, it is 60 minutes from Boston, Portland and white mountains and 20 minutes from the Atlantic Ocean. The University of New Hampshire is ranked 125 in National Universities by the 2020 Edition of Best Colleges by the US News. 
 
Infrastructure, Campus & Courses 
 
UNH has 11 schools and colleges with 50+ research centers and institutes. Since UNH is one of the top universities to pursue Sustainability related courses, new buildings are LEED standard. Durham is UNH’s main campus and Manchester is UNH’s city campus. UNH has a separate campus to pursue the law courses named as UNH Franklin Pierce School of Law at Concord, 45 minutes away from the main campus. The most sought after courses at the university are Accounting and Finance, Biology, Biochemistry, and Molecular & Cellular Biology, Bioengineering, Computer Science, Engineering Technology among others. 
 
Accomplishments & Alumni 

Sustainability is a common factor in all the activities carried out at UNH. Having received $100 million in funding UNH comes in the top 20% of the public universities in research and funding. Around 300+ faculty members conduct sustainability-related research. UNH is the first university endowed for sustainability in America and the main campus runs on 100% renewable electricity. It is one of the largest and greenest Public transport providers in New Hampshire. UNH is known to have reduced the GreenHouse Gases by 50% from 2011. The sports complexes are zero-waste facilities. The university has been ranked in the top 10 places to study natural resources and conservation programmes and number 2 to study Ecology. Notable alumni include John Irving, Alice McDermott, Jennifer Lee, Laurel Thatcher Ulrich and many more. 
 
Student Diversity & Visiting Companies
 
One of the most diverse universities, it attracts students from 50 states and 70 countries. UNH provides all the services from resume writing to Career events to help the students in placements. Some of the companies that visit the campus for hiring are Apple, BAE Systems, CA Technologies, Cisco, Dell, Fidelity Investments, Google, IBM, Liberty Mutual, Microsoft, NetApp, and others.

University of New Hampshire, Durham, USA Scholarship

Trustee’s Scholarship

Candidates are required to keep a cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher throughout the duration of the course, to renew the scholarship.

Eligibility:

  • Candidates that are extremely academically competitive with a weighted recalculated GPA over 4.0 in a strong college preparatory course along with consistent achievement.
  • Candidates should be enrolled in a continuous full-time course with a minimum of 12 credits each semester.

Amount: For Non-Residents of New Hampshire - USD12,000

Chancellor’s Scholarship

  • Candidates will be able to renew the scholarship for a minimum period of 4 years or 8 consecutive semesters.
  • For renewal of the scholarship, candidates must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.2 or higher for the entire duration of the course.

Eligibility:

  • Candidates with weighted recalculated GPA of 3.9 - 4.0 in a strong college preparatory course and consistent achievement are eligible for the scholarship.
  • Candidates should be enrolled as a full-time student and maintain the same with a minimum of 12 credits each semester.

Amount: For Non-Residents of New Hampshire - USD10,000

 

College of Engineering and Physical Sciences Industry Scholarship

  • All aspiring candidates are required to apply separately for the scholarships. Therefore apply by the Early Action Date in order to be considered for the scholarship.
  • Competition is usually high for this scholarship.

Eligibility:

  • Candidates who demonstrate the highest calibre of academic achievement.
  • Aspiring candidates are required to apply for the scholarship by the Early Action Deadline, which is the 15th of November each year.
  • Other factors that do not carry as much weight include diversity, leadership experiences and involvement in the high school or community.

Amount: Amount variable. Awarded to first-year applicants to the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences.

Paul College of Business and Economics - Paul Scholars

  • No additional applications are required, however, competition is high.
  • Inclusive factors can slightly affect the decision including diversity, leadership skills and the candidate’s involvement in high school or the community.
  • The scholarship is renewable if the candidate is able to meet the specified eligibility criteria each year.

Eligibility:

  • Candidates with a weighted recalculated GPA of 4.0 in a strong college preparatory curriculum and consistent achievement are considered for the scholarship.
  • Candidates who display the highest calibre and academic achievement are considered as well.

Amount: USD5,000

Paul College of Business and Economics - Rutman Fellows Scholarship

  • Candidates will be required to apply separately for the scholarship and the competition will be high.
  • Students from all genders are eligible for the scholarship.
  • Other factors that can affect the decision include diversity, leadership skills and the candidate’s involvement in high school or community.

Eligibility:

  • Candidates displaying the highest calibre and academic achievement will be considered for the scholarship.
  • Students who are considered competitive for the scholarship will be invited to apply separately for the scholarship.

Amount: USD3,000
