The University of New Haven was founded in 1920 as the New Haven YMCA Junior College, a division of Northeastern University.  It is a coeducational, nonsectarian, independent institution of higher learning. The University is accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). University of New Haven's ranks 66 among Best Colleges is Regional Universities North by US News.
