Starting its journey as a small college in Tennessee 225 years ago in 1794, the University of Tennessee has turned into one of the more iconic universities in the region. Spread over 910 acres of land, the University of Tennessee Knoxville campus includes 14 residence halls and 16 living and learning communities along with numerous well-equipped buildings that house the different schools of education. The University of Tennessee offers over 900 programmes under 11 different colleges, viz. Architecture and Design, Communication and Information, Law, Arts and Sciences, Education, Health and Health Sciences, Engineering, Nursing, Business, among more. Students opting to study at the university can choose from 370 undergraduate programmes of study and 547 graduate study programmes among other options as well. Interested applicants can also choose between online, honours and scholars programmes. The University of Tennessee also boasts of a student to teacher ratio of 17:1, with a total of 1,586 full-time instructional faculty.
