History, Affiliations & Ranking
Virginia Wesleyan University is a private university located in Virginia Beach, Virginia and was chartered as a college in 1961. It is nonsectarian but is historically affiliated with the United Methodist Church. It was in the year 2017 that Virginia Wesleyan University transcended from being a college to becoming a university. Every year, approximately 1,600 students are enrolled in the various degree programmes offered at Virginia Wesleyan University. The academic affiliations of the university include those of CIC, CUMU, NAICU, and VFIC. The campus of Virginia Wesleyan University is also home to the Chesapeake Bay Academy, which is an educational institution founded for educating and guiding students with learning disabilities, including dyslexia, attention disorders (ADHD), and dysgraphia. It also has the Tidewater Collegiate Academy situated on its premises.
Infrastructure, Campus & Courses
The Virginia Wesleyan University campus is urban and is spread over an area of 300 acres. The infrastructure of the university is divided into four villages: Bray Village, Allen Village, Brock Village, and Honors Village. In 2019, the construction of the Oxford Village had also commenced. Courses of both undergraduate and postgraduate levels are offered at the Virginia Wesleyan University and students also have the opportunity to enrol in an online programme of the university. There are four schools at the Virginia Wesleyan University and each of them is devoted to a specific field of study. These areas of study are Mathematics, Arts and Humanities, Professional Studies, and Social Science.

COVID-19 Response
Virginia Wesleyan University is closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation and is following the guidelines defined by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Virginia Department of Health (VDH).
New plans have been made for the Spring Term which are defined below:
Students returning to the campus for in-person classes for the spring semester must submit a negative COVID-19 test result without which they will not be allowed to move into their rooms or to attend class
Quarantine for 14 days prior to arrival is mandatory.
Students who test positive must self-isolate at home, consult a medical professional and notify the same to the University by email.
Accommodation facilities are available for students who abide by rules and regulations.
Students who cannot attend the LIVE classes can access the lectures remotely.
