William & Mary is a public research university situated in Williamsburg, Virginia. It was founded in 1693 and is the second oldest institution of higher learning in the United States. It is ranked as the fifth-best college for undergraduate teaching according to the U.S. News & World Report (2020). William & Mary is "Public Ivy” i.e. it is one of only eight universities in the nation to offer an exceptional world-class education at a cost far below that of Ivy League schools. It is the first university in the country to launch programmes like modern languages, political economy and modern history.
Infrastructure, Campus & Courses
With over 300 years of existence, the university has grown to become an epitome of innovation and excellence. It has successfully managed to bridge the gap between research and teaching, teaching and learning, learning and living through its innovative learning programmes. Students from across the world have an opportunity to choose from a list of undergraduate, graduate and online classes. These courses are offered at Arts & Sciences School and four other schools of William & Mary University. The schools have dozens of academic departments for different courses.

U.S. News & World Report,2020 ranked William & Mary in 12th position in the list Top Public Schools in the country because of its excellence in the field of education and research. There is no dearth of opportunities for hardworking students who graduate from William & Mary University. Individuals at William & Mary build personal, academic and soft skills which eventually help them become successful professionals and leaders in future. According to recent reports of William & Mary, 76% of recent graduates from the university are employed and 17% get enrolled in graduate and professional courses within six months of the completion of their studies. Others are involved in volunteer activities or do some creative activities. The William & Mary Alumni Association provides a platform to keep people engaged and connected with each other and the university. They share their experiences and join events as and when organised by the university.

William & Mary university has some of the smartest students from across the world who are passionate about serving the society in various spheres. The professors, teachers and staff of the university is a team of highly dedicated people who help each individual grow as successful graduates. The student-faculty ratio of the university 11:1 is the lowest ratio among all the top public universities of the world. Eighty-seven per cent of the classes of the university has student strength fewer than 40. The university has over 1200 international students and these students represent over 60 countries.
William & Mary will begin in-person classes for the Fall term with all the safety measures and precautions. Each individual of the university is required to take COVID-19 test before arriving at the campus. The university will systematically adapt curriculum, operations and campus to safeguard the health of an individual. Students can access an online dashboard of the university to get any information about an individual return to campus COVID 19 testing results.
The health and safety of our community is our top priority of the community. The on-campus gathering will continue with no more than10 people with masks and physical distance. Programmes and events which will be held in the campus will be limited to 50 people.
Undergraduate and postgraduate students who will be physically present on campus for the Fall term will have to undergo COVID 19 testing which will be administered on-site.
The faculty members of the university are also asked to provide flexibility to students to take remote learning for the upcoming weeks.
