Design Diploma and Postgraduate Diploma Programs

Diploma courses are available after completing class 10th or 12th, depending on the course's eligibility requirements. A PG Diploma is pursued after completing a Diploma or Graduation.

    • Admission will be based on merit and the results of the prior qualifying examination. There will be no entrance exam for the Diploma or Post-Graduate Diploma programmes
    • A diploma differs from a full-time bachelor's degree in that diplomas provide specialised expertise in a field, saving time and money
    • Diploma courses are typically one year long, while PG Diploma courses are two years long
    • To be eligible for a Diploma in Design Course, students must pass their class 12th board examinations, and PG Diploma students must complete their graduation from a recognised university

Diploma courses are preferred by students who want to gain knowledge quickly and get a job rather than spend years learning the concepts. In India, the average salary after completing diploma courses in design is INR 2-5 LPA.

    Bachelor of Design

Students with an interest in the arts and design who want to pursue a full-time degree should consider Bachelor's design courses.

    • Bachelor Design programmes last three to four years
    • These courses are available in both general and specialised formats
    • Admission to most colleges is done through state and national-level entrance examinations
    • Bachelor courses provide students with a solid foundation and a solid understanding of fundamental concepts
    • Students must have completed their class 12th board with a minimum of 55 per cent aggregate marks or equivalent CGPA to be eligible to pursue a Bachelor Design course

Bachelor of Design courses are preferred by students who want to pursue a long-term career and understand every fundamental detail of the field. In India, the average salary after completing a bachelor's degree in design is around INR 3-5 lakh per year.

Selection Process for Design Admission through Class 12 Marks

Refer to the generic selection process followed by the design colleges to grant admission to potential students below:

    • The counselling process of different design colleges varies.
    • Candidates who have registered for the counselling process will be called for the counselling round and allotted seats.
    • The selection is based on the class 12th scores.
    • The ones with higher marks in their class 12th are selected over other candidates.
    • After the seat allotment round is done, the counselling process is closed.
    • Then the final selected candidates are given time to pay the admission fee and secure their admission.
    • If there are more seats left even after the last counselling round the college releases a waiting list.
    • So, the candidates listed on the waiting list are called for admission after the last day of paying the admission fee.
