IHM vs IIHM: Eligibility Criteria 2024

Candidates looking for admission to any of the courses offered by IHM or IIHM need to satisfy the eligibility criteria decided by the college. The eligibility criteria of IHM and IIHM are provided below.

  • Candidates must have cleared 12th with English as one of the subjects.

  • The age limit for General/OBC category candidates is 25 years and for SC/ST category candidates is 28 years as on July 1, 2021.

  • Candidates must have passed 12th with English as one of the major subjects.

Postgraduate Courses

  • Candidates must have passed a Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management from a recognised institute approved by AICTE.

  • Candidates who have passed B.Sc in Hospitality and Hotel Administration from NCHM-IGNOU can also apply.

Diploma Courses/ Certificate

  • Candidates must have passed SSC or 12th standard exam with English as a compulsory subject.

  • Candidates must have passed the 12th examination from any recognised board.

PG Diploma

  • Candidates must have completed graduation from any recognised institution. The maximum age limit for the program is 25 years.

The application form of IHM can only be filled in online mode. On the other hand, the application form of IIHM is available both in online and offline mode. The application process of IHM and IIHM is provided below.

For BSc & MSc courses

Check out the application process below: 

  • Step 1: Candidates have to register for the NCHMCT JEE exam on the official website for the BSc and MSc courses at IHM.
  • Step 2: They have to fill in all the relevant information in the application form such as contact details, qualifying exam scores and others. 
  • Step 3: Then upload the required documents such as signature and photograph in the prescribed format. 
  • Step 4: Pay the application fee and submit the form. 

Diploma/ Certificate/ PG Diploma Programs

  • Step 1: Go to the official website of the IHM you want to apply to. 
  • Step 2: Fill out the application form with the required details and upload the documents. 
  • Step 3: Pay the prescribed application fee. 
  • Step 4: Submit the application form.

IIHM Application Process 2024

For pursuing any level of course at IIHM there is a prescribed application procedure as mentioned below: 

Online Application Process

The online application process for the IIHM is provided below: 

  • Step 1: Firstly, students must register for IIHM eChat. Registration for the eChat can be done on the official website. 
  • Step 2: Log in to the page and enter all the required information in the application form such as personal details, contact details and educational qualification details. 
  • Step 3: Then, upload the documents and pay the application fee of INR 600. 
  • Step 4: Lastly, double-check the application form and hit the submit button. 

Offline Application Process 

Students can also apply at IIHM in offline mode, check out the steps below:

  • Step 1: Students have to visit any IIHM campus and pay INR 600 either by cash, cheque or DD to avail of the application form and prospectus. The payment is to be carried out in favour of the ‘International Institute of Hotel Management’, payable at Delhi / Pune / Kolkata / Bangalore Jaipur/ Ahmedabad /Goa / Hyderabad. 
  • Step 2: Then, students need to fill out the application form and submit it in person or via post to any of IIHM campuses. 
  • Step 3: The downloaded IIHM application form can also be submitted at any of the IIHM campuses by paying the same application fee at the same address either in person or via post.

IHM vs IIHM: Selection Process 2024

The selection process of IHM and IIHM is provided below.

IHM Selection Process 2024

The selection process for IHM is based on several factors mentioned below: 

  • The key selection criteria include the score in the class 12th exam along with the performance in the NCHMCT JEE exam. 
  • Candidates need to register for the counselling round before the last date on the official website. 
  • The seat allocation at IHM is done in the counselling round. 
  • After the final allocation of seats, students have to submit the course fee of INR 40,000. It is part of the first semester fees.

IIHM Selection Process 2024

  • The selection at IIHM is based on the IIHM eCHAt exam. 
  • A merit list is issued after this exam. This list is based on the exam performance of candidates, group discussion participation and interview rounds. 
  • The shortlisted candidates will be called for the IIHM eCHAT counselling round. 
  • The final college and seat allocation at IIHM is based on merit.
