Types of Hotel Management Entrance Exams in India

In India, there are majorly two types of hotel management entrance exams in India - national-level and state-level. Some institutes also conduct their separate entrance exams like IHM Auranabad, Oberoi STEP, PUTHAT, etc while some universities accept common entrance exam scores like CUET. There are three main entrance exams conducted at the state level for admission in hotel management programs i.e. UPSEE BHMCT, WBJEE HM and MAH CET HM. Scores of all these entrance exams are accepted by the hotel management colleges of their respective states. AIMA UGAT and NCHM JEE are two most popular hotel management entrance exams conducted at the national level. The NCHMCT entrance exam is conducted for B.Sc in Hotel and Hospital Administration and M.Sc in Hotel and Hospital Administration courses while AIMA UGAT is conducted for many programs such as BCA, BHM and BBA. AIMA UGAT 2024 is conducted by the All India Management Association (AIMA) for admission to BHM, BBA, B.Com, Integrated MBA (IMBA), BCA, etc at various well-known top hotel management colleges in India. Scores of AIMA UGAT are accepted by many colleges such as Dr YSR National Institute of Tourism & Hospitality Management, SRM Institute of Hotel Management and Vidya Jyoti Institutions. Check out more details about the entrance exam below:

NCHMCT JEE (National Council of Hotel Management and Catering Technology Joint Entrance Examination) is a national-level entrance examination conducted for admission in the undergraduate programs offered by affiliated colleges of the National Council for Hotel Management and Catering Technology. Scores of NCHMCT JEE entrance exam are accepted by 21 central institutes of hotel management, 01 Public Sector Undertaking, 19 State Government Institutes of Hotel Management and 14 Private Institutes of Hotel Management. Check out more details about the entrance exam below:

MAH HM CET

MAH HM CET is conducted for admission in the hotel management programs offered at various top hotel management colleges in Maharashtra. MAH BHMCT CET is conducted for admission to the three-year Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology program while the MAH MHMCT is conducted for a Master in Hotel Management program. UPSEE BHMCT(Uttar Pradesh State Entrance Examination Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology) is conducted by Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. The exam is conducted for admission to the Bachelor of Hotel Management and Catering Technology offered by top hotel management colleges in Uttar Pradesh.

AIHMCT WAT is conducted by the Army Institute of Hotel Management & Catering Technology (AIHMCT) to provide admission to the Bachelor's degree in Hotel Management offered by the college. Candidates who wish to get admission to a three-year bachelor's degree in hotel management program will have to appear for the AIHMCT WAT entrance exam.
