Types of NEET 2024 State Wise Merit List & Rank List

The merit list for NTA NEET comprises the following categories:

  1. NEET 2024 Merit List - All India Rank (AIR): This list enlists candidates' names along with their overall ranks, disregarding their category or stance on the AIQ reservation.

  2. NEET 2024 Merit List - All India Quota (15% AIQ): The AIQ merit list showcases candidates eligible for the 15% seats designated under the AIQ. However, this list does not include applicants from Jammu & Kashmir. Candidates from J&K who aspire to apply for All India Quota seats must submit a self-declaration form, duly signed. Subsequently, the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on behalf of the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will manage counselling based on the AIQ rank achieved by candidates.

  3. NEET 2024 Merit List – 85% State Quota: The State Quota merit list is compiled by respective state medical councils to allocate 85% seats to candidates hailing from the state. This allocation is determined by factors such as the candidate's eligibility and domicile status. It reflects a comparison of ranks attained by candidates within the same state.

The announcement process of the NEET state wise rank list 2024 include transfer of candidate lists, submission of domicile details, and conducting counselling. Tie-Breaker Criteria Applicable for NEET Merit List & Rank List 2024

In the NEET State-wise Rank List 2024, the following process will be followed to resolve any tie-break situations:

  1. Priority will be given to the candidate who has obtained a higher score in Biology (Botany & Zoology) followed by Chemistry and Physics subjects.

  2. In case there is still a tie, the candidates with fewer mistakes in their answer papers will be given an advantage and assigned a higher rank.

  3. If the tie persists even after considering the above measures, the candidate who has secured fewer negative marks in biology will be assigned a better rank followed by chemistry and physics subjects.
