Every year, following the announcement of the results for that particular year, UPSC publishes the IAS Rank Wise Post. The lowest rank in the UPSC depends on the number of openings, the number of applicants, and the overall cutoff for all positions. Additionally, it depends on the positions that the candidates favor. An estimated 11–12 lakh people apply each year to sit for the UPSC Civil Services examination.
