The Association of Canadian Community Colleges (ACCC) and the Canada-India Water Training Consortium (CIWTC) have signed an Agreement of Cooperation aimed at facilitating workforce planning and capacity development of the water sector through skills development.Earlier as part of activities during the State Visit by Canada’s Governor General, David Johnston; ACCC and India’s National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) aimed at developing projects and programs to promote needed skills development in India. Today’s agreement is the first project launched under this framework.
This agreement will focus on the water sectors in India to build capacity in technical and vocational education and training. The four colleges of the Canada-India Water Training Consortium have extensive experience providing water sector skills to employers in Canada and abroad.
