NID Tie-Breaker Policy 2024

NID Tie-Breaker Policy for B.Des Admissions: The National Institute of Design (NID) holds the NID DAT to choose students for its respected B.Des and M.Des programs. When there's a tie in scores, NID has a specific way to decide the final NID DAT merit list. The exam has two stages: NID DAT Prelims and NID DAT Mains. After Prelims, a merit list is made using the tie-breaker criteria, and candidates move to Mains. The final merit list considers scores from all rounds following the NID 2024 tie-breaking policy. In 2019, NID used a four-statement policy to resolve tie ranks for BDes applicants. By 2020, this expanded to six criteria for BDes admissions, and in 2022, adjustments were made to the NID DAT Prelims tie-breaker for MDes. It's important to note that the General Design Program for Development (GDPD) course was discontinued from 2020-21, converting all GDPD seats to BDes seats. Explore this article to understand the NID tie-breaker policy for B.Des admissions.

National Institute of Design (NID) Seat Intake and Reservation Policy

NID Seat Intake and Reservation Policy: The National Institute of Design (NID) stands tall among the country's top design schools. Every year, the institute revises its reservation policy and seat allocation based on current needs. Back in 2019, all NID campuses collectively offered 100 seats for the B.Des program. But in 2020, they upped the ante by adding 28 more seats. Similarly, for the M.Des program, seats jumped from 275 to 347. Presently, there are 425 seats for B.Des and 347 for M.Des. Admissions to these courses hinge on the NID DAT 2024 entrance exam. Overseas candidates also saw an increase in available seats for both programs. Reserved category students like SC, ST, and OBC can apply through the open category or their specific one. To be considered for reservation, candidates must specify their category in the application. The criteria for reserved categories differ from the regular ones, and seats are allocated based on NID's policy across various disciplines. Candidates must understand the NID seat intake and reservation policy and seat allocation to gauge their admission prospects. Interested individuals can find details about NID DAT BDes seat intake for the 2024 academic year.
